At LaserLight, we researched the available products to identify the most safe and effective devices that we could purchase for the benefit of our clients. Whenever available, we chose products that had been cleared for market by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). “FDA clearance” means that a device has been adequately demonstrated to be both safe and effective when used as instructed.
The heart of our equipment is a state-of-the-art, Intense Pulsed Light system that is safe, effective, affordable and comfortable. Intense pulsed light, technology which evolved from aesthetic laser technologies, functions in virtually the same way as laser to rid the skin of imperfections, including excess hair, brown sun damage and red spots or areas of the skin. It is safer, more comfortable, more versatile, and often faster than traditional lasers. LaserLight clients have experienced great success with the IPL hair removal and skin rejuvenation equipment that we use.
A Massachusetts company, Palomar® in Burlington, manufactures and services our IPL equipment. In the 1990s, Palomar® pioneered permanent hair reduction after receiving the first FDA clearance for this procedure. Since then, Palomar lasers have been the industry standard that all others have been compared to, and validated by Palomar's strong patent position. Lasers, although clinically effective, have skin limitations regarding skin color, hair color and hair thickness. Subsequent new technology developments from Palomar led to new, groundbreaking pulsed light technology that improved clinical outcomes over a broader client base. Our IPL technology delivers specific wavelengths through larger sized light windows, with superior Advance Contact Cooling and smooth pulse technology, to give our clients faster resolution to their skin issues, and more comfort during the treatment.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Laser Hair Removal
The demand for intense pulsed light (IPL) hair removal and laser hair removal treatments are at an all-time high. This is not surprising, considering that traditional hair removal via electrolysis and waxing is painful and expensive.
