Express Teeth Whitening for a brighter, whiter smile fast
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently approved, or cleared, LaserLight’s White Brilliance™ 30-minute Express Teeth Whitening system for market to the dentistry industry -- even though FDA later determined that the LED bleaching procedure and gel product being used by the dentist did not change the structure of the teeth, or cause any damage to the enamel -- and therefore did not require FDA review and approval to market.
"Teeth-bleaching" is now considered a cosmetic enhancement practice and is no longer restricted just to the dental industry. As a result, many of the systems used in the cosmetic industry did not undergo the rigorous testing for safety and effectiveness that precedes FDA approval.
LaserLight’s system uses and is a true dental industry technology, a gentle ultra blue/violet LED high intensity bleaching light, with the purist and highest FDA approved concentration of carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide allowed as the whitening agent. The light functions to accelerate the action of the bleaching gel, speeding up the bleaching process while enhancing its performance. We follow required “procedural guidelines,” making this a self-managed procedure.
 The system comes with three levels of adjustable heat and light intensity, perfect for those who may have sensitive teeth. LaserLight tested the system on actual clients known to have sensitivity, and not one of them experienced any treatment-related discomfort.
This procedure and the gel product will not change the structure of the teeth nor cause any damage to the enamel; it merely helps achieve a whiter and brighter look by removing stains. Studies show bleaching also contributes to destroying bacteria in the mouth and helps to control gingivitis and halitosis.
